Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan at Mandir
Bharatanatyam Classes
12-week course (Sat 25th April – Sat 11th July 2026)
Mandir is delighted to partner with the world-renowned Classical Indian Arts & Cultural Centre, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, to bring high quality Indian Classical music and dance to Kent.
Bharatanatyam Classes
Bharatanatyam is a classical South Indian dance form that combines expressive storytelling, rhythmic footwork, and intricate gestures to convey emotion and devotion. Dancers use precise movements, facial expressions, and hand mudras to interpret poetry and music, often accompanied by Carnatic compositions.
Bharatanatyam Classes at Mandir are taught by Roshani Kulendran. Roshani ji is a senior disciple of Guru Sri Prakash Yadagudde of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Under his guidance for over 15 years, she has completed both her diploma and post-diploma in Bharatanatyam and her arangetram in 2018. Roshani has performed alongside distinguished artists such as Dr. Srekala Bharath and Dr. Soundarya Srivatsa at prestigious venues including the Southbank Centre and the Nehru Centre. Deeply connected to this art form, Roshani aspires to share the beauty and depth of Bharatanatyam with others and is committed to preserving its traditional roots while ensuring its relevance in the modern world.
Classes are open children (6 years+) and adults. No prior experience is required.
